Please help, I am trying to identify what the hell I have, was purchased from a guy who stated it was a 1985 ford 535 tractor, I found the numbers stamped and they are kd4110, 8e05 d or 8, c782315. I am trying to find any info, books, manuals and parts to get this tractor in good shape. Please, can anyone help, I have scoured the internet with zero results, thanks, Tim

My references say:

KD4110:

KD4: Ford 445A
1: Diesel engine
1: No PTO
O: transmission type, not listed, mistaken reading?

8e05?:

May 5 1988, date of final assembly, last character probably a B for day shift

C782315:

Serial number, first half 1988, C means US Ford plant, meshes well with Unit code

Wow! You are my hero. The kd4110 or could be B on the end, It has a 4 speed trans, no hi lo. My head has been trying to explode figuring this out. Thx

2wd, 4 speed torque converter I believe. I found a catalog set for service, parts and owner manual online and ordered it just now. Seeing some pics online now, it sure looks like the 445a.

When talking Ford tractor transmissions 4X4 means 4 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. Incidentally I have a 4X4 torque converter power reverse transmission on my 1994 455D. For mine the transmission code is Z.

Also check around the tractor for an aluminum data plate or foil sticker. It should have the same codes that you found stamped plus others. Mine was missing, for some reason they sometimes disappear or become unreadable.
