Wrangler jeans

I have two pair of Wrangler jeans, purchased by my wife at the same time, a couple of years ago. Both pair ripped along the inner seam where the hip pocket is sewed on, left side. My wife patched and sewed them. A few weeks later the same thing happened to both pair on the right side, same place. Anybody else experienced this? The pants are a long way from being worn out. And no, I am not a lard butt, I weigh 144 lbs. Thanks, Ellis

Not exactly but I have jeans that wear in the same way due to how I carry things. Pocket knife goes in front right so it wears through. Wallet goes left rear so that pocket wears. Could be due to what you carry.

No but maybe you need to quit carrying a skoal can and your concealed carry in your back pockets.

For years I bot the Wrangler stretch jeans since they are more comfortable than the thick denim and then they quit making them a few years ago.

13MWZ Wranglers here for over 30 years. Never had an issue with any of them until they wear out.

I never could get any wear out of Wranglers. A pair would last me maybe three months max. The only good ones that I ever had were FR rated (fire safe). Down side to FR rated jeans is they're heavy and cost three times more than a regular pair.

Went to Carhartt in my mid 30's and haven't looked back.

I always wear Wranglers and never had a problem with them ripping unless I caught them on the barb wire fence or something Sharpe.

I have two pair of black Wranglers that have torn around the rivet on the left back pocket. I thought the washing machine must have put extra stress on that location.

I have had the same issue with several pair, tearing at the back pockets. I thought it was from sitting on my cell phone but I quit carrying it like that and it still happened. They are making them with thinner material now it seams. I have older pairs that feel thicker and seem like they never wear out. Damn shame because I like how they fit.

Wear the 13MWZ, have my whole life. Never had an issue with them unless it was my fault. Love ‘em.

Same here. 2 pair lasted less than 6 months. Tore at the back pocket seams. Fabric still good.

I have several pairs, some 10 years old at least. Haven't had a failure yet.

You can't go by brands. Companies are doing their best to be competitive, and one thing they can do is downgrade the specifications of the materials they use. Although the jeans may look like the ones from years ago, the weight of the denim is lighter, thus cheaper to manufacture, but not a durable. Start looking at the weight of the materials to help steer you towards longer life jeans.......but.........be prepared to spend more.

Mostly wear Wranglers jeans started wearing them in grade school. Have a few pair of cheap jeans for greasy or oily work. Tried Levis 501 did not care for the fit, Carharts were OK but higher priced. When I was a kid I remember some called Toughskins, they were stiff as cardboard for a while. I wear Key or Big Smith bibs in colder weather. Since I have retired it is usually shorts all summer.

Levis 505 right now now I have on Rustler shorts also have some Carhart cargo shorts good in summer

The Wranglers with the W on the back pocket and the Wranglers sold at Walmart are very different. Like mentioned, you can’t just go by brand.
