Off topic whats going on here

In the tub/shower upstairs we have a single handle faucet. One of those you pull the button up to change from spout to shower head. So you start the water with nob in about the middle for hot and cold but it comes out scalding hot. Keep turning it colder but nothing changes. Finally when you have it 3/4ths cold it comes out freezing cold. There doesn't seem to be any in between.

is it a Price Phister? There are rubber valve parts in the mixing valve probably worn out.

Yep, had to replace the valve cartridge in ours a couple of years ago doing the same thing.
