For those who have done this what kind of bracket did you use to enable the belt to run straight? If I hold it where is should be the line I think power steering looks to be in the way? If anyone had a picture you could share? I can make a bracket but I’ve seen Steiner and others have universal brackets. Thanks in advance for replying and pictures would be appreciated

This is a model A, never even painted it but has worked well for years.

Thank you I envisioned something similar but the 620 has a pipe running close by but this is definitely in the ballpark

Looking at the Steiner bracket I can see how that one will work to clear the water pump line or for that matter the fan shaft support

Get a "mini alternator" or a "racing alternator" and it won't stick out like a sore thumb in place of the OEM generator while not costing you any/much more.

On my 60 I turned the alternator up side down works good been this way for maybe 15 years.

That pipe that you refer to is the thermostat bypass pipe. A Delco 10SI alternator will fit nicely there. As you can see, I just welded the alternator mount to the original generator bracket. On my JD50 the original bracket was cast, so I made a bolt-on adapter. You can re-clock those alternators so the wires are tucked in out of harm's way. First picture is the JD50. ⁸
