Case magnetos

Is there a good place to get parts for them? I am finding nothing on the computer. I can get a coil rewound, but I don't have a core piece for them to do it. Also need points????

My experience is the coil is rarely bad. Usually a Mag simply needs a good cleaning, that is every connection taken apart and cleaned, and points gapped to .012". Maybe the magnets need to be re-magnetized. Otherwise Contact Rusty Acre. 507-433-0073

Coil is missing on the one I have to work on.

I have used Fairbanks Morse coils as an experiment on the bench, the armature metal is a bit short but if positioned properly the set screws in the mag body hold the coil nicely, it does produce a nice fat spark, there would have to be made a strip of metal to contact the spring on the cap but there is no reason it will not work. I do not have a workaround for the coils that the armatures sandwich the mag fields shoes and press down into place. I did purchase a dealers new old stock of Case mag parts, I have two of the green plastic style 2 lead condensers new, a complete impulse assembly, a drive cup and spring and a hub with weights, no points but I have seen the new bar style points on Ebay and have quite a few miscellaneous other items. For what it is worth, the condenser for an IH mag is an easy and perfectly acceptable substitute, one set of wires that go to one end of the condenser simply get grounded and the other to the points connection as usual.

Depends on what all is missing? As of now, I am looking for a good coil. I will be getting the 2 mags from Craig in Wi.

Condenser for the IHC H4 mag has no wires. I have been using the one for the battery ign as it is small enough to fit & use 1 screw where the case condenser uses 2. I tried another coil that tested weak & I ended up with a spark I as not satisfied with. I will try another.

A few years ago I had a magneto rebuilt for my SC. A gentleman by the name of Rudy Calin did the with on it. I'm not sure if he's still in business as I think it was a secondary job for him. He does good work and may have parts as well. I've included his card for anytime who might be interested.

My magneto guy told me he can install a Fairbanks coil in a Case mag for $50. Lynn Borgers Howard SD.
