Spread some fertilizer

Spent the weekend hauling manure, been a couple years since I could get to it. The DC did loading duty of course.

The 400and 115 spreader run by my grandson Randell.

The 830 on a CIH 550 spreader. Bonnie driving that.

Didn't quite get done because of a few problems, wheel bearing on the DC and a broken loader frame, hitch broke on the 400 and ,surprisingly, the 830 won't run without fuel. Lol. Maybe 10 loads left for next weekend. Did get most of 20 acres covered tho, so that should help with next year's crop.

Those pictures bring back so many memories of a job that had to be done and was never fun doing. We had a concrete lot that was bladed into a concrete bunker and hauled when weather and an open field permitted. That included the coldest time in winter when the ground was frozen but there were always soft spots that the only way out was to empty the load and hope you make it out. The pile created would be spread in the spring. Seems like the wind was always coming from the wrong direction too. Thanks for sharing.

I love hauling you know what. It's my favorite job.

I always enjoyed it as well. Especially late in the fall after dark with snow swirling in the headlights and Christmas carols playing on the radio.
