Howdy Gents and Gals,

I have a complete and intact 1952 John Deere #5 sickle mower to share with anyone who might want to restore it. It has been under cover for years, except the last two… my bad. Still has most of the original paint AND decals. Even comes with the PTO shield, which is straight and green. I should also mention it has the less common 5' sickle bar.

I have a 1937 #5 semi permanently mounted on my ‘41B so this ’52 unit is actually in the way.

I am willing to share this with a YT’er for FREE; however, it must be picked up at my farm in Washington state. If one of you commits, I can keep it here for up to 9 months ( I’ll try to get it under cover ).

I make no demands but my wish is that one of you will choose to clean it up and use it on your property and not just sell it… I could do that myself.

Plenty of pictures to share by text.

Call (360) 219-6458 and we can visit,

Fr. Bob

I wish that you were not on the other side of the country from me. Anyways, I would imagine somebody would be able to use that mower. Good luck.

Would love to pair it with my A but I'm on the other side of the country from you....hope you find someone!
I live in Eastern Washington, Ellensburg. I have a number 5 I also have under cover for years. I have a cousin in the Chhalis area who has some JD stuff, I sent your info to him to see if he is interested in mower.

That might be a good matchup for my recently drug home MT-W. I used a #5 quite a bit as a kid doing the Fish & Game partial mowing deals. Had it on one of our 706's, so cruising in comfort

I'll look forward to visiting with him. I'm in Chehalis too. Wonder if I already know him ?

I haven't heard anything back, family name there Whittaker, my mom was from that area and her folks and 2 brothers had dairy farms there.Still some of my cousins in the area and a bunch of relatives in Plaquato cemetary.

I wish I know of a way I could get there and back. Love to have that mower, but no way to get it here.

Please be patient and find someone who can take it. Too many implements lost already.
