Since I did not grow up around canola could you tell us a little about it? I know that its grown in Northern Minnesota and across North Dakota also. What kind of yields can someone expect when growing it and anything else that you can tell us about it. Thanks Tom in Mn.

I guess he doesn’t want divulge his secrets😁 anyone else out there that can answer that question? Thanks Tom in Mn.
I've had it on my land but since the land is rented out I couldn't tell you anything about it. Other than it has kind of a rotting flesh smell when it is cut.

Here in north central ND a decent canola crop is a ton per acre and up.

rusty 6 raises canola. He can probably provide information to your inquiry. But I'm not sure if he still posts much here. He posts a lot on You Tube.

My younger brother (now deceased) worked for a farm that raised canola. I remember him saying they always pulled a roller behind the swather to push the crop down somehow to protect it from being scattered in a wind. I believe it has to lay in the swath for some drying, or at least it was that way in the past.
He must be busy combining. Tom in Mn.
I would expect combining to be done by now in Northern Alberta where rustred lives.
