Farmall F-12 project

I bought an Farmall F-12 a couple weeks back. This tractor as local history, used to farm on a farm the was near to where the hospital in town is. Anyway, since I couldn't work on the B due to being swarmed by particularly vicious cloud of Asian Beetles, which were bitting my and getting into the tractor, so I decided to tear into the F-12. So now my question is how to I remove the crank coupling? I need to replace it due to wear that makes it impossible to turn the engine over much less crank.

I've seen lots of the pins worn out but never a ratchet, if that's what you're talking about.

Regardless, the ratchet is pinned to the hand crank shaft, and the crank pin is a tap-in fit in the nose of the crank shaft , which is secured with a set screw. Use a new, sharp, tight-fitting screw driver; you may only get one chance at it.

For the tractors age' it looks in good shape. I wish I had the time to bring Dad's F 12 back to life. I don't see that happening. Dad bought it from a neighbor in the 30's. I offered it to one of the family members of the original owner. That will keep it from the scrap pile. Stan

You can carve the right hook profile with a 5" cut-off wheel if you can't find a new one.
