Another accidental tractor

This happens once in a while—I bid on something just to get in on the action and I end up the new owner. I was at the point of exiting, waiting for one more bid. That bid never came. Not a terrible buy and I can get my money out of it and maybe a little work to boot. Nice-running Power King, I’d lie if I said I didn’t want one. Seen a few work days, this little guy.

Runs great, drove it on the trailer. Full-size Interstate battery, looks too big for that little tractor. Plenty of starting power, though.

It looks like a good start on a nice little tractor. I have two of them, just a few years older. What you are missing is the implement lift. Can be hydraulic or manual. The hydraulic pump goes over the bell housing and the tank and valve are under the seat, the cylinder is to the right of your right foot. The hand lift bolts to the frame to the right of your right foot. If you look you can find a lot (pictures and information) about these fine little tractors.

I’ve got one that’s similar. The full-sized battery does look a little out of place. They are a fun tractor that gets a lot of attention.

Thanks, this one has a hydraulic cylinder. May be all that’s left of the whole setup. There’s a bolt they jammed into a fitting to block it off, maybe to keep fluid from leaking out.

My serial no. list goes up to 1973 and lists that year as 26728-30311, Yours looks like it would be in early 74. Jensales is were I got this manual with the serial no. listing. I don't know of others have the manuals but this POWERKING OPERATOR'S MANUAL would be for your model.

I see the adjustable mounting bracket for the hyd. pump above the bell housing in the engine picture.

Thanks for the replies. I’d like to see the tractor in someone else’s hands soon. It’s already listed for sale, needs a little more TLC than I can offer at the moment. Would be good as-is for pulling a cart around.

This one sold for $1300, appears to be in excellent condition. Probably a fair price considering the time and money that went into its restoration. Mine is NOT in excellent condition, would be considered a "project tractor." Or just use as-is to move things around. Not trying to sell it here, it's advertised locally.

Something I wish I had years ago, could not afford one.Now in apartment do place for one.

Thanks for the offer. I worked it a little today, moved some firewood I'd normally pull behind my little Wheel Horse. The Power King did a much better job probably owing to its greater weight. I'm leaning more towards keeping it, just wish I'd gotten one with fewer parts missing.
