Just got my Cat D-6 home, it has a cable blade and a pony motor.
I'm trying to look up the S/N 9U15925 to find out what I have and to find parts.

Do you have an oil clutch or dry? Oil clutches were built in later 9U models after about 1953. This is a better clutch for wear and life. #24289 was a 1956 model. So I would guess you are in the 1954 to 1955 model year. I have several D6 9U parts machines in Alabama. Have also had good luck ordering parts from the internet. There are a lot of aftermarket parts available as well as Caterpillar original.

My serial# book confirms that it is a 1954 model.
