Just curious about tractors made into road graders. I've seen pictures of many Allis and some Farmalls. Were there ever others like Oliver or Minnieapolis? What about John Deere? kelly

Yes JD had a model D called Hawkeye road patrol but I don't have a picture

Looks like you could order it with a small house. Or maybe it came standard.

The Fords were called "Road Maintainers." True road graders the front wheels angled but the maintainers did not. Still worked well. joe

#8 with grader. 21-32 Twin City came out from underneath that Hawk.
#8's grader. Bolted right up to a D as the bolt holes are right there. Universal Hawkeye's.
Somewhere, there is yet another Hawk being saved.

A guy on our tractor rides always keeps a feed sack with him in case his seat gets wet.

When I was working in Smith Center KS about 2011 or so, a local Ford tractor collector had a fully restored Dearborn road grader mounted to a Ford 8N that I got to see in person. He had a bunch of other Ford tractors with unusual after market attachments in various states of restoration. Some were Ford or Dearborn, others were third party. What caught my attention was the high crop attachment made by a third party out of Omaha NE on a Ford 8N setting by his house. I asked if I could see it up close. Of course he said yes and we didn’t stop until I had seen nearly all of his collection.

Let’s not forget Huber. A steam manufacturer that jumped into the tractor game in 1926. After the war blade tractors were a mainstay and used by many paving crews for their compact grading features. Huber ceased in 1984.

One of my 300 IH utility tractors has a blade mounted under it. It was used to maintain filbert orchards. I have seen Farmall Cubs and Farmall C's with Factory IHC belly mount grader blades....James

And the G Allis Chalmers on the farm where I worked when I was in high school had a center-mount blade. I used it to clean the concrete area around the silos where the milk cows loafed before milking. That little tractor was as handy as the pocket on a shirt.

Up here in Central Montana I know of several L Cases with grader attachments. I have seen at least 6 plus one down in Eastern Colorado.

The first Russel graders were built on Cat power units. Eventually Cat bought Russell leading to today’s evolution of the machine.

As a kid we had a VAC Case with an under belly blade. No clue if it waa homeade or not. Worked good though, I do remember that.

This is a 1939 International I-14 Galion grader I sold this year. There were very few made. I restored it. Owned it for over 25 years. Had hydraulics and electric start.
