What’s the most weight anyone has pulled with a stock Farmall h? I’ve spent a lot of time designing mine and I can pull up to 20k lbs with mine (the tractor weighs 9k lbs also) and I’m wondering if anyone has ever seen that before

Hello Farmall H dude, welcome to YT! I suppose your definition of stock WINK, WINK is different than some. Kind of like an 1000 CID JD G. Assuming you’re talking about 20K on a pulling sled and not on wheels. You’re only about 5 percent of the way to convincing me that the first option and stock are really happening.

None will argue and you'll feel good, what more could anyone want? And at 9000 pounds weight, it is likely also the heaviest one on the planet.

There was an old H near me that used to pull at 12,000 LB that was fun to watch, it had a CREEPER first gear too. The family that owned it liked handling weight a lot more than I did at the time. The Berian Springs Michigan 4H youth pull has 15,000 and 18,000 LB classes, always comical to see a JD 5020 with weights EVERYWHERE hanging on it.

I really don’t care about having a certificate or anything, I just love seeing small tractors pull heavy and I’m just trying to find other people that do as well. Cause we’re I’m from everyone hates it for some reason

Yes my definition of stock is different than others, it’s still stock bore and stroke, and stock compression ratio.

We used to spot loaded railroad hopper bottom cars with a Farmall M. They held around 200,000 pounds of grain alone. However, I assume you are talking about a weight sled at a tractor pull.

are you from the deep south ? there are no tractor pulls down here at least on the coast, they all told me all the guys want to do is fight after they loose

You said there was a video. Can you give us a link, or tell us how to find it ? I did a quick google search for farmall h heavy pull and what came up was regular antique pull videos ! I am now curious as like I’m sure some others here are. Help us out !

I'm curious JK .... is that the "rolling weight"of the sled (I don't think so) or the actual "drag" (or whatever that is called) that the sled provides as resistance? And if it is (the latter), that would be at the maximum load resistance when the box is right over the pan at the end of it's travel? If so, then measured by some sort of gauge or measuring device?

Our little tractor club has an electronic sencer in the pulling sled clain. It measures the acctuall amount of pull drawbar pull. There is also a scale that tells the number of pounds of weight is directly on the shoe. The numbers are vastly different,with the shoe always being higher than the drawbar pull.

I am seriously greeting you to the forum anyone interested in the subjects is welcome here. I am not sure how much you looked around here before you joined but if you did you may have noticed that we don’t thrive on sensationalism like is common on many other social media platforms. The YT Tractor Pulling forum is also not real active, not that members don’t participate in pulling. A little, I did this and I had to do that and eventually I was able to pull 20k pounds may have been a better way to step into the ring. Having only participated in tractor pulling as a spectator I have no idea what weight is actually on a shoe/pan during tractor pulling. I do know in some if not all cases modern sleds are able to shift the weight of the sled to put more down force on the section of the shoe/pan surface equipped with grousers to increase the pulling resistance of the sled. I did make a quick search and a well known YT posting member said tractors could commonly pull a sled that is twice the tractors weight so maybe what your doing is not that far out of the question. Are you using gearing that is slower than the 2.6 mph stock 1st gear? I am impressed that you claim to be utilizing the stock bore, stroke and compression ratio.

i think you have your tractor weight mixed up with a super wd9. or you are referring to metric measurements. lol. been pulling for a lot of years and have yet to see an H in class 5. and no i have never saw that before.

I agree ! I’m just curious ! I enjoy watching antique pulls ! We still have our Oliver 88 light enhanced/ hot stock tractor but haven’t pulled in quite a few years. Just interests me is all ! Pulling can be very different around different areas !
