What's the preferred method of online payment, nowadays?

I have a pretty big stack of old manuals I'm wanting to sell from horse drawn implements up to 1970's both tractor and implements, plus some industrial and trucks. I used to be active on ebay...used to be, but when they split from PayPal I pretty much stopped selling. Plus the C thing hit. I haven't looked at my PayPal account in a year or more. I'm now on a few Facebook pages that sell those things. What's the preferred method of payment? PayPal, venmo? How is it done today. I'm not totally against a plain old check.

I mostly shop at Amazon and buy Amazon Gift cards at Kroger's using a Kroger CC. And buy gas at Kroger's getting a $1.55 off a gallon.
I use my checking auto pay to pay all utility and CC bills. I may write 6 checks a year.
So far, using a Kroger CC at Kroger's I pay no CC fee.

I guess I should've made the title of my post "payment for selling online". I'm mainly interested in how to collect for my sales online.

I have always bought and sold via Paypal....never had a problem doing either. The attraction was the only people that see your payment information is Paypal, zero chance, or near zero chance of your information being stolen and used by others. As I understand it there are copycats that mimic Paypal now. I can't vouch for any of those, Paypal has kept me safe from fraud since I started using them so I have never considered changing.

I'm waiting for his answer, $1.55 a gallon discount? I'm guessing that is a typo.
No, it is not a typo.
Kroger CC will give you $0.55 cents off a gallon if you have fuel rewards points.
So here is an example where a Credit Card has an advantage over CASH.
Kroger CC has no annual fee.
Another dollar off a gallon using Kroger fuel rewards points.
Research how you can earn fuel rewards points.
By taking full advantage of the system I earn 2000 to 3000 fuel points a month.
I take gas cans with me and buy the full 35 gallons each time I gas up.

People poke fun of me for using the system, I get the last laugh saving $54.25 each time I buy 35 gallons. :D

So you spend $2000-$3000 a month on groceries so you can save $1 a gallon on the 35 gallons of gas you buy every month? You might want to pencil that one out again.

Well, the credit card George is referring to gets you a Kroger Boost membership which doubles your fuel points on most days.
And around here at least, if you shop on Fridays, you can download a coupon that gets you 4X fuel points, plus the extra Boost point gets you 5x fuel points.
So $500 a month spent on Fridays gets you 2500 fuel points.
So use 1000 fuel points getting gas ($1 off) plus an additional $0.55 off for using the card, equals $1.55 off per gallon. Limit 35 gallons per transaction, I take cans with me and get it all.
And if you only have 100 fuel points, that'll get you 10 cents off plus 65 cents for the card = $0.65 off. Still a deal.
Yeah, I play the same game George does for gas.

And for the OP of this thread, I use Paypal. As another poster pointed out, Paypal charges a fee for buying/selling transactions. Something to keep in mind.

I got scamed using Paypal. They got my bank account information. I canceled the Bank account and my paypal account. Had to set up a new Bamk account. My banker said never to use paypal. I am still getting people that try to charge to my paypal account. Paypal wouldn't do anything about it , never will I use paypal for anything.
