202 or 2135 Model?

I recently acquired a Massey Ferguson and previous owner stated it's a 2135. None of the original tags remain. I've been trying to research information to confirm the year model etc. In what I have seen photo wise I believe it's a 202 model. Any experts out there thay may know? See photo

looks like a MF 20 or 30 industrial to me. - 135's are not industrial. the 2135 share the same hood & side panels as the 20 & 30 ? 135

It's a 202. Basically a 35 with a different front end, front axle, and sheet metal.

I don't think so.

The year isn't relevant. The serial number breaks matter for parts. Get the parts book, and work it out that way.

The parts book does you no good when you don't know the serial number. There may be two parts listed for different serial numbers so you don't know which to order. I've been lucky, I've had my 202 for 9 years and haven't had to order any parts with that quandary yet.

That is true for some parts either side of a serial number break. At least sometimes one can see a difference in a part, its mounting, etc. and determine which side of a serial number break their machine is on by using the parts book. So, I would not say a parts book does no good if you don't know the serial number. In some cases, it can help.

A quick glance at the instrument panel will give you a major break in serial numbers. If the starter switch and ignition switch are BOTH on the left, the serial number for a 202 is 306493 and up a 204 is 342499 and up.

The clip type distributors were used prior to (202) 308962 and (204) 343688.

The front wheel hub assembly, sub (202) s/n 306677, p/n 183019M1 was eventually superceded by p/n 191520M92.

You can absolutely use the parts book to determine serial number range.

Yep, power steering pumps also changed, they went from a Barnes pump to a Cessna.
