I have some grass seeding to do this spring and am trying to find a Brillion cultipacker to firm up the seed bed. There seems to be two types, at least of the Brillion brand. The first picture I call a cultipacker but some call it a sprocket seeder. The second picture kind of fits the description of packer better. I guess my question is, will it matter much which type I get? Might be limited as to availability unless I want to drive a long distance. I was thinking of running the cultipacker over the seed bed to firm it, broadcast my seed, run a spring tooth harrow over it set at the least aggressive setting, then run the cultipacker over it again to ensure good seed/soil contact.
