JD 325 rototiller

All,

I have a JD 325 garden tractor manufactured in 1997 and I want to add a rototiller. I am confused as to which JD tillers are compatible. I see two different styles, both of which are 30" wide:

Are they both compatible with my tractor? I see people claiming that both can be used with the 325. Thanks.

I would buy the one on the left before the other one. Unless substantially cheaper.

Do you know the model numbers of both?

This thread and post #2 will link you to a John Deere model page for a 3264 tiller.
Per the left column tractor model numbers the 3264 will work on many models including yours.

Replace "external_link.com" above and replace with "external_link.com"

I don't have the model number yet from the one on the left. The one on the right appears to be manufactured in 2012 (PIN MOX3264X195531). Looking at some videos of the style of that left one, it looks like it needs a PTO coming off the right side of the engine and my 325 doesn't have that; it has a mid-mount PTO.

Try https://www.my*tractor*forum.com/jd-30-tiller-on-a-jd-325-questions.874993 paste into your browser and remove the *s.

The tillers show up in the at the JD bookstore as just 30" mechanical tiller and 42" hydraulic tiller to find the operators manuals in the attachments under a325 search.

The parts catalogs are PC2203 and 2697 respectively.

I would "guess" the one on the right. The 325 had a vertical shaft engine.
Attached is a model/serial number list for the 30-inch tiller that fits.

Thank you, this is very helpful! Any idea where I go to download the full manual? I tried to find it on the official Deere publications site, but couldn't get the search feature to return any manuals when I typed in the PIN or "30" Tiller".

My next challenge is to buy the lift assist kit for the tiller. This document (http://manuals.deere.com/cceomview/OMM138587_B4/Output/Index.html?tM=HO) says the kit is part #M97624, but I couldn't seem to find that on the Deere parts site either. Any suggestions where I might source this are appreciated.
