3010 John deere

2old2learn
Hello!
I just bought a 3010 John Deere tractor.
I’m wondering about the gray wheels on the steering axle??? is that standard?
Thanks

Welcome to this forum
Frt wheels were painted yellow when 3010 rolled off factory assembly line
Ok good.
Another question this tractor has a F 10 farm hand loader on it.
The front end of the grill and the tractor is all beat up. It’s got a heavy steel plate on it. What they do use it for a battering ram.???

Hello 2old.. welcome to YT! The above question should have been directed at the seller. I would operate under the practice of, if you didn’t like the damage you should have kept the cash in the pocket. Hope you enjoy your tractor despite its short comings.

I thought never in my entire life would I hear of the front of a New Gen. tractor getting bashed up. Those plates are enormously thick! I think the thickness is somewhere in the area of 3/8" (could be smaller). If you replace it I hope you are able to find an inexpensive one. My guess is that they are not cheap.
Or, since it's already bashed up, keep it and, use it for a battering ram yourself.;)

Can anyone tell me on my F10 farm hand loader why the bucket won’t hold? itdrops down?
Could be a hydraulic cylinder that won’t hold pressure. Are there any hydraulic leaks on the tractor? Any near the loader? I know our John Deere 301A loader has a major leak by the loader and the cylinder dosent hold pressure because of it.

I pulled the cylinder out of the square tubing and rebuilt it.
I can’t quite understand the one handled valve that rotates forward and back , in and out, either……???

The long cylinders that are outside the rear tires with a hose at only one end will leak out oil if the seals are bad. Leaking down and leaking oil at the same time in that case tells you the cylinder seals are bad. If the don’t leak very much and it drifts down then it is very likely the valve is letting the fluid pass by and not sealing positively.
If you are talking about the bucket dump or curl cylinders I am not sure how those are setup. If that utilizes a double acting cylinder with hoses going to each end, those cylinders can have leaking piston seals which will cause them not to hold position and they will not necessarily leak externally while doing this. So they are more difficult to diagnose.
