Ford 555a backhoe

I have a Ford 555a backhoe that I want to change the transmission modulator valve springs but I cannot find the springs. The dealer doesn't even know there is a modulator valve.

The service manual lists the dimensions of the springs as:

accumulator valve spring:

outside diameter = 0.605 inches (15.37 - 15.88 mm)
free length (approx) = 2.40 inches ( 60.96 mm)
maximum solid height = 0.95 inches (24.13 mm)
height under 27.4 - 29.4 lbs.(12.33 - 13.23 kg) load = 1.1 inches (28.19 mm)

pressure regulating valve spring:

outside diameter = 0.460 - 0.480 inches (11.68 - 12.19 mm)
free length (approx) = 2.05 inches ( 52.07 mm)
maximum solid height = 2.68 inches (72.6 mm)
height under 1.46 - 1.60 lbs.(.66 - .73 kg) load = .0420 inches (10.67 mm)

I could have them made but the pressure regulating valve spring has a maximum solid height ( 2.68 )which is longer than the free length (2.05 ).
This is obviously an error.
I was wondering if anyone has the proper spring data or perhaps knows where I can get the springs?.

Thanks
David

The springs are for the modulator valve. Where can I find the springs? . What is a locator site?.
New Holland dealers that also do a lot of business on line, like messicks or partspring.com will use the New Holland parts network to find parts that are no longer made but might be on a shelf at a dealership somewhere around the country, or in a New Holland distribution warehouse somewhere.

Messicks shows several of the springs available and their locator site may have. Got some pieces for a 4500 that way.
Thanks, I will have a look.
I have searched through Messicks and discovered no transmission modulator valve springs.
If I do a general search for a 1985 ford transmission modulator valve, I get no results that are related to what I am looking for. I do not think anyone knows what it is. Here is a picture.

At partspring.com I get a Syntax error or access violation. So I cant access it. Thanks anyhow.

The parts site doesn't call it a modulator valve. It calls it a "hydraulic valve", but it looks like the valve in the picture in your service manual. The entire assembly is labeled 53 in the parts drawing at the link below.

Link to parts drawing for 555a torque converter trans parts

The springs are labeled 59 and 61 and they are just called springs. The part numbers are D9NN7L580AC and D9NN7R507AB.
Thank you very much for this information Sean, The way that it is displayed is not what I thought it would look like.

I will see if I can get what I need and Thank you again.

Those Ford parts drawings required some deciphering back in the day, and as New Holland has updated their parts site over the years they have lost a lot of the key information. Almost every kind of valve is now descried as "valve, hydraulic", and the descriptions of lots of other parts have been similarly "genericised" (Is that a word?).
