7100 planter-right meters?

New to me 7100 mounted planter. I want to take out the original bean cups and put in Kenzie brush meters.
Is this the correct Kenzie brush meter to plant soybeans? On the right? It seemed to have a few leftover oats in it. Could someone have used this to plant oats? I want to plant beans and want to make sure that I have the right thing, that I have the one for beans.

2. Are the setting the same when you’re using Kenzie? I want to plant 160,000 seeds per acre, have it set to Driver: 30 and Driven gear: 28, seems to be what the manual calls for, if I’m reading that correctly

Thank you!

It is Kinze, not Kenzie. Have you talked to their customer service? I would call there before I would think anyone here would know what you have from a grainy photo..

Nah, asking here is better for a lot of things, people have used it, people often know the answer. Did you know that you can click on a picture to make it bigger? And if you don’t know, ya just scroll on by, there’s lots of things that I don’t know.

Those look like the bean meters I've used. Those will plant WAAAY more accurately than those original cup meters did. I was always baffled that John Deere designed such a good planter then put such crappy bean meters in them. A google search should get you a chart for the proper setting for the population you want.

Those look to be the proper meter bodies.

The plate itself looks odd with its ridge in it? They have many different plates, you should find a number on the plate and can look up what it’s for.

In really big soybean seed you might want a different plate anyhow. In regular bean seed the common plate works. It’s possible you have a Milo or other plate and they planted cover crop with it last.

I buy a lot of such stuff from Shoup, if you don’t have other access.

Looks like it could use new brushes to.

I see now it is indeed the soybean meter, says right on it. And the ‘ridge’ I couldn’t figure out is a shadow. So, good to go.

Other than I sure would order some new brushes and install as soon as you can. Those blue ones are more important than you think.

You will be happy with those, much better than the cup.
