John deere b battery box covers

I have a 1940 jd b that I need a lh battery cover for. Serial no. 90103. The only lh covers i see for sale are for 1941-1947 tractors. The lh cover for thise has a little scoop on it. Would one of those fit my tractor?

When you say "scoop", are you referring to the little bump where the fuel shut off rod is? That would work if your B has the flat dash. Not sure about the slant dash models. Which style do you have?

My parts book shows two different numbers for that part-one for serial #s below 96000 and one for #s above that. It doesn't show an illustration for either one.

My b is a slant dash, not flat dash.
