I got a 1956 super 77 wheatland at an auction recently. I can't seem to find much info about the row crop wheatlands online. Anyone have an idea how many were built or how rare these are? I plan on ordering the build card this week. S/N 41 381 702, spec 17-4306

By the numbers that I have, 28 were built in 1956 and a total of 84 produced. I cant guarantee that this is 100% correct. Your tractor is 8 serial numbers earlier than mine. Same spec numbers as well. When the build cards are all digitized, we should know for sure then.

That's the same info in Greg Davis' HPOCA article Jan/Feb 2019. 28 produced in '56 and 56 in '57.

I thought that was the super 77 standard tractors not the row crops? Also you could put a fixed wide front and closed in tin on an ordinary super 77 row crop, and call it a wheatland couldnt you?

There was a "standard" designation, they only made in 63 in 1955 and 2 in 1956. According ot the article, the "wheatland" name wasn't used, as it was referred to as a "row crop standard front axle" and only produced in 1956 and '57. If I remember correctly, the easiest way to tell the standard front ends is they had the open knuckle type steer mounts and the row crop standards have the spindles as shown above.

This is a super 77 standard. This configuration was replaced by the row crop/standard configuration sometime in 1956. The tractor Oliver Owner has is a row crop/standard. Oliver produced the row crop/standards into the 3 digit series. Later, in the 3 digit series, Oliver returned to producing a standard model not based on the row crop chassis. 65 super 77 standards produced & 84 super 77 row crop standards.

Nice Tractor. Have You gone on the Hunt for the Super Series Seat Assembly yet? All the rest of the Tractor seems Quite Correct.

Just got the build card in the mail. It was shipped to Edmonton Alberta. According to my dealer registry that would be Carruthers Implement Limited. Were they part of the Goodison network? My registry also has a Carruthers Farm Supplies in Glencoe Ontario and it is listed as a Goodison dealer.

The BC has some letter-number combos that are not on the code sheet. Probably has to do with the row-crop wheatland configuration. Kirk Norlin, do you have the BC for yours to compare?

Correct me if I'm wrong because I don't have a build card in front of me, but isn't Edmonton just the rail yard destination? From there it could've gone to other dealers, not necessarily Carruthers. I think most of my build cards show Oakland, CA as the destination even though I know they went to various dealers in the region. Does it have the dealer code for reference?

I don't know. My registry says Carruthers was on the 1988 dealer roster with a dealer code of c234.

I meant to post the BC pic too

I will have to look. I cant remember if I ordered the build card for that tractor or not. Too many tractors!!! I know that I purchased it from a fellow from Vita, MB.

Oliver owner some build card comments.

The shipping location is usually the town of a dealer. I have some cards that also list the Branch House. You dealer name is from 1988, were they in business under the same ownership in 1956?

The Dealer Codes should probably be listed as order codes. I have seen different codes for the same dealer even during the same time frame.

The Build Codes on the sheet, were put together starting about 20 to 30 years ago by a few people going to shows and writing down serial numbers and making notes about how the tractor was built. Some of the codes were not used enough to find out what they mean.
