WC with strange engine

Bought a WC at farm sale, has engine with no side cover on right side,fuel pump plate, canister oil filter. Has casting # 100-174 below magneto. Maybe 226 power unit?

Could be a Le Roi built, AC designed engine.

Nothing stamped on carb side. Has 2 drain plugs and boss for dipstick thats plugged.

If it is truly an A-C "W"-series or "G"-series 201/226 engine, that is exactly where the engine serial would be stamped with punches. A Le-Roi engine I have no idea where its info would be. A dipstick on the left side of the engine is not an Allis trait either. Only one coolant drain cock on the left side just ahead of the carburetor. There is such a thing as an "RC" tractor, which is essentially a "WC" with the much smaller "B"-125 engine in it.

Found some pic of Le Roi on net. They have 2 drain plugs, dip stick hole on LH side with pan bolted with nuts on top of pan rail. There is/was many Le Roi power units used in oilfield around here. Know of couple V8s setting and have seen a V12, all were setup to run on LP.

I just wish I could get definitive information on the relationship between LeRoi and Allis-Chalmers on these size engines. Who made parts for who ??

Have came to the collusion its a LeRoi Power Unit. Has physical looks of a Allis Chalmers engine as used in WCs.

It was C.H. Wendel who indicated to me that AC sold rights to Le Roi to build a copy of the W engine. He said they tried but were unable to locate documentation of the exact agreement.
