What happened to pickups??

My 2013 Silverado is rusting there also. I plan to have the bed-sides repaired this winter. No way I'll pay $60k for a new pickup.

Have you gotten any quotes for having it done? Local member Gordy in MN gave me the # for a guy who imports clean used ones from Texas area. I called the guy yesterday and he has one- white even. He wants $2K for it.

I've done nothing yet, still in the pondering stage. About 40 mile from me is a business that sells new pickup beds, but haven't checked that either. The rust hasn't popped yet, still red paint on blisters, but full length of the fender well straight part.

i have two extended cab Chevys with the 8 foot bed and a crew cab Ram short bed. All of them are the same overall length. One chevy is a 1 ton 4X4,and the other is a 3/4 ton2X4. The back seats are full on all of them! the very best part of the RAM is the 19.5 MPG

How much truck can you expect to get for 60k? Look at the TV ads and usually the retail price is shown before the discounts they are posting to get you to spend your money. What gets me is all the retailers with thousands of '25 and '26 vehicles left on their lot and September is a month away.

Saw an ad yesterday about auto auctions of new vehicles where aftermarket (used) dealers can buy those vehicles wholesale, and it encourages you to get on the bandwagon.......not sure what the rules are for non-dealers participation.

I have to laugh when I see someone at Home Depot trying to haul a 12-foot roll of carpet in the box of a modern pickup, with the carpet nearly dragging on the pavement! We bought a new F150 extended cab in 23 and it works well for us, I have trailers for hauling longer items. an 8-foot box extended cab just wouldn't fit in our garage, and we never park outside. I like the extended cab, a little extra room, and not the big 4 doors, but we don't have grandchildren or a dog! And this Ford gets incredible mileage, 2.7 v6, over 20 pulling a boat, over 25 not towing!

Whatever the box length . An extended cab is required to store groceries, jackets, dogs and beer protected from weather and with some security. Without taking up room in the bed or the front seat. .

I have had this truck since 2008 and it was a fleet truck in Columbus Ohio before that. It is a 2001 F250 super duty diesel w/8ft bed. I bought it to pull my trailers with and it still gets some use but has never been a daily driver for me as I put on only about 1000 miles per year. Currently has 96,000 miles.

Adding the cost of having a body shop switch beds and the Leer topper. I suspect my final cost would be close to $4K. I'll stick with body shop repairs to my present bedsides.

I want a Chevy/GMC 2500, 4X4, gas -STANDARD CAB 8' bed.
Have been looking at several auction sites.
They're like unicorns.
What happened to them. Have looked at a hundred or more online and found only 3 or 4 with a STANDARD CAB and 8' bed

I would be happy with the plainest Jane, low mile pickup -from a no rust zone.
It has me wondering what people use an extended cab, short bed 3/4 ton for.
