Ford 256 I6 head bolts?

Found my head gasket leaking oil, ordering a head gasket, but would like to have a new set of head bolts too. Anyone have a PN for new bolts?

A 1974 7500 should have 1/2"-13 x 4 3/4" head bolts, part number 83907721. They should be available at any new Holland dealer.

Go to the ARP website https://arp-bolts.com/ and there should be a calculator for ordering studs measuring off the original bolts. When I was doing a Ferguson the company was very friendly helping me size what I needed. They are not cheap, but I doubt OEM bolts are either. I think it's generally conceded that studs are superior to bolts in this application.

Why do you want to replace them, they are not torque to yield junk that’s used today

My luck is that they will be pitted from corrosion or whatever.. do any go into coolant passages? I'm not familiar with industrial diesels, only automotive.

On those engines all of the head bolts go into blind holes
Naturally checking for pitting especially near the bolts head and base of the threads is important
Guess I’ve been lucky but having worked on and owned Ford tractors for over 50 years I don’t remember having to replace a head bolts, if I did it was with another used bolt from a scrap engine

I have been using them for fifteen years or so. You can find what you need on the ARP site or just google. You get superior clamping force with them. I was sold when the mechanic showed me to run my thumb nail over the edge of ARP stud then an OEM.
