John Deere 1020 losing fluid

My 1020 diesel is apparently losing hyGard in transmission, and my engine is gaining fluid. Is it an easy fix or am I in big trouble?

Do you have the engine mounted power steering pump that is drawing fluid from the hydraulic system? That would be the only place hydraulic fluid would get to the engine I can think of offhand.

Yes, front mounted 0n the 3 cyl. diesel.

That's the only place I can think of that would put hydraulic fluid into the engine. Sounds like time for a pump rebuild or replacement.

No power steering on it.

If there is no power steering pump tucked in up and behind the alternator, on the engine, the hydraulic fluid should not have a path into the engine, that I can think of.

Could diesel fuel be leaking into the engine crankcase past either the lift pump diaphragm or the injection pump shaft seal?

The lost hydraulic fluid might be leaking to the ground.
