You don't find these everyday

IIRC DC Tom Graverson had a VAC powered by one of these motors. I wonder what happened to it.
I was in contact with Toms daughter Lisa after he passed, I never seen any sign of his tractors, I did get his small steel wheel drill bought along with lots of his memorabilia,, I will try to remember to send her a message and ask about the air cooled VAC , I am still friends with her on fb

Think it was a 840,, Dan here is the info from the 840 and 850, the 850 speaks of a conditioner the 840 it was the only option Thanks for reminding me

That's neat!

Do you have any history on the A125? Haven't heard of one before.

Mike
I have info on them yes,, but its buried in my mountains of Case,, it was a test Case did to see if they could gain market share in to the air cooled market, used on swathers one or two models of pull-type combines, were a couple apps, they made a move around cart for the engine so it could be used for other jobs,, meaning you pulled it off the swather or combine when not in use and used it for a power unit,, I think they were fine,, just not able to make sales like Case bean counters wanted , I will keep a eye out for some of my info on them to make a post with here some day

Tom,

An old CASE dealer told me that they had a problem with the cooling fins filling up with dirt/chaff and getting hot and scoring the cylinders.

Yes, I could understand that, I suppose on those that were not serviced regularly, and it worked hard too with the heat, I have never been around one, wondered how that cooling fan worked?

The one that I got the most useable parts off of was originally on an "88 Case tobacco harvester" (not 100% sure on that number). The 2nd one that I scrounged parts off was originally on a combine but saw later life on sprayer for insect control in livestock barns. It met its retirement date when the fan bearing seized.

Sure it says right in the ops to clean them daily in dirt conditions, and or Clean screens when dirty ,, I ran a number of different Wisconsin's piles of hours in Very dirty conditions on sweeper brooms and sanders all ran in a dust cloud never ever had a issue with dirt causing them to heat /do internal damage, also other brands but then I did blow them out every so often too, I could see them causing damage if they let the air get cut off,, thats just operator error to me as a old dealer and having done thousands of diagnostics when things failed ,, and I seen Plenty of mfg and consumer caused issues ,, a liquid cooled unit does the same thing if you plug the air flow off,,,
