Area I regret not taking before picture. Before squeezing the barn back together the roof and barn rested against the silo. Not anymore. Don't realize how much they settle over time.

Might be the last big window that opens up. 7-15 days of clear sailing with minor glitches here and there. Hay is going to be dropping. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 acres of mine and custom.

What a week. Had 56 acres down by end of day Sunday (10-4) and started baling on Wednesday and finished on Friday. Started on 6 acres of 3rd cutting. It went 90 bales/acre and when combined with the other half of the 11 acre field went 70 bales/acre overall and it would have went higher but we were short a driver and to keep the accumulator moving since I was baling and not grappling, the windrows were doubled and should have been single and I was a bit impatient and went a gear or 2 higher than I should. Even the guy that buys hay sent me a text asking if I knew the bales were bigger than normal. Our more neglected field of 2nd cutting went 55 bales/acre.

The stats

1466 bales of small squares
35 - 4x4's dry
6 - 4x4's baleage from the shade
386 custom small square baling

Mowing on the farm across the road from us for custom bales square bales. He has a much better view than we have on our fields.

Really neat seeing rain clouds like this. Even got a few sprinkles. That was chilly at 50's and windy.

Finally modified one of the hay wagons to tow tandem. Been wanting to do it for years.

While I'm here dealing with this issue

Once wife comes down I go to grappling. Due to high winds we did a first of running rake in front of baler cleaning up the windrows.

Due to losing space in the barn and more hay to make utilized my uncles kicker racks for mobile indoor storage.

Moving rounds at 7am. Darn phone does not do it justice. Barn had a neat glow to it at that hour as sun rose.

It was a good run. Still have 13 acres of dry to make of 4th cutting and 20 acres of Triticale for baleage if weather cooperates and that will close our 2026 hay season.
