Help with 276D fuel pump timing marks

Hello,
My first post! I have a Yanmar 276D with a bad fuel injection pump. I have a replacement with shims and have found the timing pointer. I don’t seem to see the timing marks on the balancer? Are they hidden under the paint? My manuals photos are so poor I cannot make out what I should be looking for. Any help is much appreciated.
