Hay baling video....

Didn't have much time to get the camera set up & the other camera crew organized. So, I just shot from my "lofty office".

The hay turned out great! Just wasn't much of it. My total for all three cuttings is about 40 less than I get in the usual first cutting. At least it dried easy. 🤷‍♂️

Enjoy!

Mike

I always enjoy your videos.

Looks like there is a problem with your rake.
I use an inverter. It's really good at making tall, fluffy windrows that the wind does it's will with. A hay devil can really make my afternoon a pain in the neck.

I don't have the option of a wider sweep (i.e. a rake), which makes the job a bit more tedious. Though the inverter does a more thorough job than a rake in terms of clean pickup.... you have to be careful what you pick up, so you're not throwing fresh greens in the windrow..... etc.

It's the usual give or take.

Maybe twenty years ago I bought a used windrow turner, that was a two wheel rake, that I intended to set up to mount on the front of my baler tractor for windy days. One time I did pull my rake right in front of the baler.

I had a two wheel rake a few years ago. Thought I knew how it mounted; couldn't get it to work right on my H. After I got rid of it, I found out it mounts on the 3pt, between the tractor & baler.

I would like to find smaller wheel rake wheels to mount on the baler & can't seem to find a decent spot for it on the right side of the pickup. Well, there are plenty enough options, the tin is rather thin & there really isn't much frame or reinforcement to work with. Had wanted to use a small one on the mower, to get everything through the conditioner & can't seem to find a good mounting position for one. It would either be in the way on a turn or pitched wrong.
