    1960 4010?

Were any john deere model 4010 tractors built during 1960? If so what serial numbers would they be and where can I find documentation supporting it.

60 made into a front mower

I have been interested in retro fitting a 60 or 50 into a front mower. I thought I would use some short turf tires to lower the rear axle and probable build a off set front axle to lower the front. I am considering shortening the frame by about 18 inches and mounting a electric fan and radiator...

    AO

Many people are still suprized to find that john deere gave the AO the larger engine (1/4 inch longer stroke) way back in 1936.

    tire cutting disc

Harbor frieght tools has a 4.5 inch disc that will cut as good as any other and last just as long at a fraction of the price. If you really want to hog the rubber out buy their double chain disc. Use a electric planer with carbide blades for a finished look. Once a lug becomes sticky or heated...

    Stroked JD A

You cant even start to get enough advanced timing out of your distributor if you havent jumped your gear or done some other timing adjustment. If you have a nine inch stroke and not enough advanced timing it will act as if you have a dirty carb once you get it under a very heavy load.

    Stroked JD A

Sounds like a timing issue. If you havent jumped at least one tooth on the cam gear your not even close on the timing.

    Tractor parts stolen

not only do they have to take the top cover off but a mounted loader means they had to disconnect and remove the starter too.

    Tractor parts stolen

Who on earth would waste there time steeling old common parts out of a work tractor. Not only that but do it so close to a house and even work around a mounted loader. Sounds more like revenge then common theft.

    Remember the Ugly tractor?

1975 I was 13 my brother 9 and we had snuck into the infield area at the Ionia Free Fair to get a look at the super mods. E.J. rolled by with ugly thing and burped the throttle as we stood 10 feet away. 2 large slabs of sod cattapolted into the air about 8 feet high and landed in the very spot...
