    Don't have first-hand knowledge on Packards, but I think any rear-wheel drive system has the bearings lubricated with the differential grease. Also, I'd remove the drive-shaft before towing the car any distance.

    I've never seen a spreader like that, but it hints of IHC. I have a Mod 200 IHC that has some of the same features. Look at the apron chain to see what "size" the links are. If they are "S" links, then the spreader is definitely an IHC. You might check out some of the castings too, and you...

    NH68 Baler

    If you decided to keep the baler/fix it up, why not take the needles to someone known to be a good welder. Have him braze the needles together. It should be as strong as the original. I'd say it ought to be cheaper than buying new ones (assuming they're $100 each).

    lawnmower clogging in wet grass

    There's probably no way to keep the deck entirely free of grass sticking to it in places so as to cause clogging problems. But one thing can surely help---Remove the deflector, or raise it somehow so that the grass is discharged more freely. Helps to eliminate "windrows",too.

    To me--That's the most attractive old Ford tractor I've seen. But how could you use it without destroying it's beauty??

    IH Little Genius plow pics and questions

    I doubt that the front wheels on that plow are modified--the way the spokes are fastened to the hub and to the wheel itself. That could be a FUN restoration because the plow looks like it's in excellent shape. Taken all apart, sand-blasted, and painted, with new tires all around would make this...

    Sharpen plow coulters?

    I believe in sharp tools. That goes for coulters as well---especially in sod. Otherwise what you're doing is ripping the sod apart. Under normal conditions, coulters will sharpen themselves. Mine is adjusted to reach the plow share---or hub deep.

    OT: concrete pad with sliding garage door?

    PS---If your door has no provision for using the 2x2 as mentioned, why not put the 2x2 just outside the door and secured to the concrete. Then have slots cut on the underside of the 2x2 so that water can drain away. This would serve to secure the door as well as preventing air flow under the door.

    Don't know if this is of any help at this point, but----if you pour and level the concrete an inch below the door--then secure a 2 x 2 to fit directly below the door, and fits up into the bottom edge of the door---it might work for you. If your door doesn't have this provision, then of course...
