    Thanks Jim I Went through absolutely everything when it was all sorted. Distributer was thoroughly cleaned and checked with new parts as was the rest of the ignition system and the carb. I can live with it. It still does everything I need it to do👍

    Has anyone removed a Ferguson te20 rear axle sure seal and how did you do it

    As the title suggests, has anyone removed a rear axle sure seal on an old Fergie te20? Mine was leaking bad so stripped it all and was surprised to see a a sure seal already fitted. Rubber lip is perished so have started to remove. Not as easy as I thought. Will apply heat if I can’t budge it...

    Thanks Charles. Sound advice. There is no thermostat at present, at what point that was removed is anyones guess. I haven’t bothered to fit another yet. It’s not a huge amount of foam, just sits on the top and fortunately it’s not overheating. I’ll check bolt torque again though. Thanks again

    I’ve done a sniff test on it which proved negative the countless times I’ve done it so that’s encouraging. I know the head is cracked but pretty sure I’ve repaired it well enough. Foam is pretty thin and not bubbling over and coolant doesn’t sound like it’s boiling

    Thanks very much for the reply. Thought the starter motor would suffer from the higer voltage, but your 40 years of use that way is encouraging. I don’t believe I have bosses in the block so will look for a an alternator price.
