    Removing third valve on late 4020

    Unless you're going to keep the remote, why don't you find someone local who would like to add a remote and swap pieces? You could gain some extra Christmas money!

    4430/4440

    I've had both....traded the 30 in on the 4440. IMHO the 4440 is one of the best tractors JD ever made. I had no trouble with it. Just changed the oil and filters. I think it had 6000 hours on it when I traded it off. The 4430 was alright... I just held my breath every time I used it. Get the...

    60 rim removal/changeover

    Rim looks good, and those are good prices. $59 for a tube? Some of the tubes we get here are made off-shore and are VERY thin. Looks like you made out very good.

    Not really..... There are specific lubricants for cables. It would probably be best to call the number above and ask someone who works on tachs for a living. He would likely know of a good solution for a clutch cable too. Is the clutch cable built so that you can pull the inner cable out...

    Metro Speedometer in missouri fixed my 4010 tach. phone # 816 478 0116 Just a thought....have you tried lubing the cable? It might be that the cable inside is binding..causing the needle to bounce. Good Luck!

    It doesn't seem that long ago that a guy could get the three piece seat for $100 from Deere. I guess the reasonable prices for Deere are over since the take-over of all the smaller deere stores.....

    good disk for 4020

    Miller and Crustbuster offsets are good brands of disks....don't know if they made them in the late sixties. I would think 14' would be a good size for a 4020.

    Seat Shock Absorber

    I put the new assembly (spring and shock) from steiner's on mine......it made a huge difference. Good luck.

    We got a good rain in Gotebo...... wheat's coming up. Saw footage of the suv rolling down the highway on channel 4. Still no pond water, but at least we did get some rain.

    changing 38 rim on 60

    I would prolly just take the tractor to them. You're looking at a pretty good chore...it usually takes an air impact wrench to take off the eight nuts on the bolts....and a torch to remove the bolts from the center section....most of the bolts are rusted solid into the center section.
