1966 4020 diesel power shift with a 148 loader. 1000 hrs. on complete overhaul and around 7600 hrs. total.Firestone Super all trac tires at 85%.Not all beat up like some and I m only the 2nd. owner. About what is it worth. I was thinking around $ 10,000 or so am I close ?

I thought it was pretty close to what they bring I know some people ask ridiculous prices but they are only worth so much. I just want to get into a newer cab tractor like a 6300 or something similar or I wouldn t even think about selling it.

In ark. they sell for about what they cost when they were new, not twice as much, but different places get different prices. And todays economy dont help.

At auction in sw OK, it would not bring that much unless super heavy advertised and a collector might show. I am sure somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-8.5K, at best. Locals would buy it to load ....

dude-- i make the rounds daily, ebay, c/list,yt, you are rite on. verifiable oh,
powershift,SATS,good tin, it will get it. just saw the results from auctiontime sale...very strong. use the old rule of 3,000 for the loader...leaves 7...not outlandish.

Good tractors with known backgrounds sell for actually more than what you described.Nice 148 loaders bring $2500 up to $3500.And I just saw a 66 4020 bring over $8000 in Marion S.D.that was a P.S. with a lot of work done according to auction company and a average at best paint job. With year end tax credits it a good time to buy or sell.

You are in the ball park for my area in Ohio as Tim S said from what I have seen at auctions. Last year in Jan. this 4020 (1966 I believe) sold at auction for $8300, its history was similar to yours.

This was a one owner tractor and just one example of a well maintained line of farm equipment still in use daily.

rick,

Just what does your comment "And todays economy dont help" mean to you. When I go to auctions in my area I have to compete with farmers with their pockets full of cash, baby boomers & empty nesters looking to enhance their hobby (multi-tractor collections), and ordinary joes just looking for a solid investment. What I do not see in this economy is any shortage of cash or people giving their tractors away.

Id never buy a tractor at an auction to start with and Id never pay more than what they cost new, for a new generation tractor.I have two 4020s .

That appears to be a guard to keep a heat houser away from the brake area so when the operator is driving into a wind, it doesn't get tangled in their feet.
