1939 John Deere B, PTO lever loose

Have you checked/changed the rear end/transmission oil? In my opinion, that is a must. Second, if your tractor has a flat back and you have drained the oil in rear end, its not a big deal to take the rear plate off and take a look. Then you know what you have and can see if there are any...

1939 John Deere H Radiator Shutter

OK, just trying to tie up the loose ends. After disassembly, it looks like the shutter was manufactured by BCT Moto Gard. I think it may have been for a truck and was repurposed on the tractor. Thanks for all the input.

    John Deere H

If you search the Minneapolis Craigslist for John Deere H parts, the parts you need are there. Might be to far to ship as the flywheel would be expensive.

1939 John Deere H Radiator Shutter

Thanks for the responses. I would think that the curtain would be correct for this year but maybe there wasn t a hard date/SN# where they switched to shutters.

1939 John Deere H Radiator Shutter

I m working on a JD 39 H and have a question about the radiator shutter. This on has horizontal fins. All the other JD shutters I have seen are vertical. It fits well and doesn t seem like a hack job. Wondering if someone has an idea of what I have. Also thought this year would have a cloth...

    John Deere A4720R Cylinder

Thanks for the help. This cylinder is shown in parts manuals for tractors starting at the John Deere 60 and continuing through the JD 2010. So the date range for this type of cylinder could be 1952 to 1965. What would the code look like for a casting from 1964? I admit I dont have any...

    John Deere A4720R Cylinder

Looking for some help deciphering the casting code on a A4720R cylinder. See attached for pictures. Trying to understand if a month and year are indicated.

    John Deere B Hood Nuts

If you have enough metal left on your hood, you may want to check with John Deere for the replacement sheet metal cages. Something like A1433r or B1433R. I bought some several years ago. If they arent available from Deere, google the part number for secondary sellers. If that fails, there...

    JD 830 Remote Cylinder

My concern is a volume issue not a pressure issue. This cylinder has a large bore so it will need a lot of fluid to make it work. I was more concerned about the time to transfer the needed fluid to lift the cylinder.

    JD 830 Remote Cylinder

Working on a remote cylinder with a casting number R2635R for an 830 (2 cylinder). The parts book shows it had 5/8 hoses. My farm store supplies 1/2 or 3/4 hose. The 3/4 hose gets pretty bulky to handle. Should I have any concern on using 1/2 ID hoses?
