    Hand Crank

    On my 41 Farmall Av i noticed that when you hand crank it the crank just wants to slip. I tried replacing the roll pin and that didn't work. Any ideas to fix this problem. Thanks

    1086 load control shaft

    I just did one of those on a 1086 so its fresh in my mind. You do have to remove the drawbar, drawbar hitch frame and the PTO assy. to get to the U-bolt that holds the draft sensing arm to that shaft. Only then will you be able to slide the shaft through. The rest is self explanetory...

    Hmmm, this is an interesting one. Engine requires 3 things to run, fuel, air and an ignition source, which in the case of a diesel is the heat of compression. We almost need to check all 3 to be sure. Fuel seems most likely even still. You said you had smoke... but I'm not sure how much...

    It just sounds like you have an intermittent bad connection. That snowplow that you have on there ties right into your battery cables to work. That terminal block that you describe sounds like the solenoid that runs that plow. The wiring for the snow plow could have been installed different...

    Somewhere you must have a bad connection between batteries or ground. Sounds unusual though. If you have a multimeter you can do voltage dropped tests between battery positive side and ground sides. That should show you where voltage is being dropped. Evidently somehow the alternator's load...
