    Hand Crank

On my 41 Farmall Av i noticed that when you hand crank it the crank just wants to slip. I tried replacing the roll pin and that didn't work. Any ideas to fix this problem. Thanks

    1086 load control shaft

I just did one of those on a 1086 so its fresh in my mind. You do have to remove the drawbar, drawbar hitch frame and the PTO assy. to get to the U-bolt that holds the draft sensing arm to that shaft. Only then will you be able to slide the shaft through. The rest is self explanetory...

    JD 8300 transmission

Thanks for the reply JDTECH. I'm with you on putting grease in pumps for faster prime on initial startup. I didn't see any foreign material when I took it back apart. Although obviously I saw bits of metal from the gear seizing. This may be one of those unsolved mysteries. I know for a fact...

    JD 8300 transmission

Hey guys, I have a very technical question on an early JD 8300 (below 20000 serial number). I know there are some newer JD techs on here so I need to pick your brains once. From what you know is there a special startup procedure after a complete rebuild of the powershift transmission? The...

584 new rebuild will not start

Hmmm, this is an interesting one. Engine requires 3 things to run, fuel, air and an ignition source, which in the case of a diesel is the heat of compression. We almost need to check all 3 to be sure. Fuel seems most likely even still. You said you had smoke... but I'm not sure how much...

Are you getting any white smoke (unburnt fuel) puffing out the exhaust?

ot dodge diesel not charging 806 Curt

It just sounds like you have an intermittent bad connection. That snowplow that you have on there ties right into your battery cables to work. That terminal block that you describe sounds like the solenoid that runs that plow. The wiring for the snow plow could have been installed different...

    OT dodge charging problem

Here's what I would like you to try if you have a multimeter. Hook the batteries to the truck normally and start the truck. Next set your multimeter for voltage. Put one lead to one battery positive and put the other lead to the other battery positive. If your meter is showing more than 0.5...

    OT dodge charging problem

When you remove the passenger side negative does it charge the driver side battery normally then? There is a small piece to the puzzle we are missing and I'm not sure what questions to ask you to figure it out. Perhaps others can chime in?

    OT dodge charging problem

Somewhere you must have a bad connection between batteries or ground. Sounds unusual though. If you have a multimeter you can do voltage dropped tests between battery positive side and ground sides. That should show you where voltage is being dropped. Evidently somehow the alternator's load...

    Ford 520 baler parts availability

I actually called them before posting here. They checked all the salvage yards they work with and found nothing. Suprisingly the NH dealer did find a NOS part at a dealer somewhere in the US I believe. Wants $148 for it which is enough. The future father in law didnt decide yet, still seeing...

Well guys, I need some advise. Kinda long.

I had a recent similar experience with an old gehl skid steer, gas engine with MS carb and mechanical fuel pump. The old carb was shot so I bought a rebuilt one from all states ag parts. Well since I did that the carb would always flood out no matter how I had the float set. I got my original...
