Case 24 speed powershift vs 12 speed

I have a 2394 with the 24 speed. I prefer it over the 12 speeds in my other tractors. I don't think there's any difference in reliability myself.

    2390 starter/electrical trouble

We ended up getting a used starter from a salvage yard. Never did find out what was wrong with new one we purchased from the starter shop. The owner came out and looked at the starter on the tractor and he was baffled too. We actually got a second rebuild from him thinking the first was...

    4490 steering problem need help

First thing I would do would be to clean the filter for the rear steering if you haven't already done so. Can you straighten the wheels using the left/right switch in the cab?

    2390 starter/electrical trouble

I needed to replace the starter on my 2390. Took the old one to a alternator/starter shop. They said the cost to repair the old one would exceed the cost of a rebuilt unit so I purchased a new starter. I got the new one all hooked up and there was no power to any of the wiring on the tractor...

    2390 engine stalling. Pilot spools/clutch?

My 2390 started acting up today. Pressing the clutch down causes the engine to instantly stall. We did a few tests to the tractor and here's what we came up with: Powershift in 1, clutch out: engine runs but is under a heavy load Powershift in 1, clutch halfway down: engine runs normally...

2590 lights - no low beam

I would agree that the most probable cause is the plastic connector under the cab. You need a small socket to remove it. There's probably some corrosion in the pins there. Clean them up with a piece of emory cloth and electrical contact cleaner. There is also a connection near the front of the...

    2090 Trans Oil Light On

The Trans Oil light came on our 2090 while dad was doing chores tonight. All hydraulic functions were normal--steering, power shift, remotes, etc. and the tractor seemed to operate normally. We checked the fluid level and it was good and it was not hot either. Turning the steering wheel made the...

    7110 vs 94 series

7120 rear axles are the same as a 23/2594. 7110 is a lighter rear end with the axles out of the IH side of things, I believe a 5088 IIRC.

    2394 Lost 2, 4 , 6 powershift

I would agree that the most probable issue is the transmission control board under the console in the cab. I replaced one a couple of years ago and it was around $180 at the dealer. One other place to look before you replace the board would be the pressure switches on the C5/C6 manifold. Look...

    359 case engine

The 359 is the CDC/Case engine used in the 1896/2096, Maxxum, and smaller MX series tractors. Can"t help you on the fitting one to a 930 though.

    1070 water manifold problem

Having some trouble with the 1070. The engine developed a knock during spring planting and we finally have time to tear it down and see what the issue is. We were trying to remove the water manifold from the heads and 4 of the 6 bolts attaching it broke off so we can't remove the manifold...

    Flashers on older Tractors?

I have an early 1070 open station (cast front end) that has just one flasher on the left hand fender, just like in this picture. No indication there was ever a flasher on the right hand side either.

    2290 Implement plug

You can buy both the outlet and the wiring harness from your Case dealer. The harness is a little spendy at around $80 if I remember correctly.

Since none of us can plant corn yet...

I'm currently running a 16R22" JD 7100 with the 2390. For many years we pulled a New Idea 8R22" with the 1070. The New Idea is just a Kinze painted orange so it matches up to the tractors pretty well. Both have been good planters for us.
