Z radiator. Does anyone build them?

I found a gentleman up north right after I posted this, who has built Z radiators before. Tessman tractor recommended him. The price he gave me to build a new aluminum one is basically the same price I’d pay for a re-core and he said I’d need to UPS him my current one to serve as a blueprint...

Z radiator. Does anyone build them?

I’m in need of a ZTu radiator. I figure anything used I find won’t be usable since they’re all getting older. The radiator shop told me with my current one, the tanks aren’t nice enough to even consider a re-core. Frustrating, but it happens with a restoration. Does anyone recommend someone...

    Another Z question

It’s a 47 Z. Radiator is a Modine but not sure part number right off. For some reason I’m thinking it’s 6621 maybe. I can look later. Won’t all year ZTU radiators fit, with some modifications maybe needed?

    Another Z question

I think I answered my own question. I think my radiator shell is bent i had noticed that too and had the same thought. I backed out on them last night to see if I could get it to fit.. still doesnt fit. I can’t figure out if maybe this side of the radiator shell is bent out just enough where it...

    Another Z question

I bought a used radiator for my tractor. Had the radiator pressure tested and it passed so I installed, using the hardware my service manual listed. The left side of the shroud lined up & bolted up fine. The right side (pictured here) has about 2” gap between the shroud and shell and the bolts...

I love it. It's great to see an early Z.

    ZTU battery box

Yep. I posted about my shifter issue and he told me exactly what the issue was and sold me what I needed.

That pin you sent me for the shift plate on this Z fixed my problem there. I thank you again!

    ZTU battery box

That's exactly on par with my journey with the k4 coil and actually part of the reason I just bought a "ready to go" from the magneto shop. I'd love to eventually own an early Z like yours. I really like those earlier style wheels

    ZTU battery box

Is the '37 the K4B4 magneto? My '48 has that magneto. I bought a rebuilt one from Rudy's magneto in Minnesota.

    ZTU battery box

If you ever want one, I could give you the shop's info. Congrats on your '37. I love those earlier Zs.

I have a lot of respect and appreciation for building your own

    ZTU battery box

Yes exactly. I’m in the Deep South where MM was very light on the ground here, so outside of this forum and a friend in South Carolina who collects, I’ve had to make a lot of connections in the Midwest to find stuff I need

    ZTU battery box

Yep that was me haha. I ran ads everywhere trying to find an original. I did find an original toolbox that was in good shape, but I could never find any decent battery box. I had this one built and was curious what MM guys thought. I’m happy with it. I think it’ll blend right in with fresh paint

    ZTU battery box

Here’s a battery box I had built for my Ztu How does it look to y’all? I think it came out pretty close to an original. The mounts and instrument box are originals. I plan to get it painted prairie gold soon
