quad range, syncro, or power shift?

I agree with Cornerpost it depends what the tractor is used for I like the powershift for feeding cows planting spraying baling raking tedding etc the quad shines on tillage running a forage harvester and hauling tanks a lot of the time just slap that lever to the side and it's all you need both...

    john deere 336 baler

really good baler very dependable with capacity to boot whether you're baling with a 620 or a 4020 but be sure you check plunger stop newer series have a grease fitting be sure to clean and spray with a good penetrating lubricant and check by hand to be sure it is free it can be an expensive lesson

    John Deere 730

thank you all very good comments and information. I was always surprised by how much work I could get out of a tank of fuel on the 730 even compared to other diesels but the comments about the expense of repairing the diesels refreshed my memory ( two flywheels welded crank thrust washers etc.)...

    John Deere 730

My question is from a lack of experience ,how does a 730 gas compare with a 730 diesel in the field? I have owned and operated the diesel and was impressed with its' performance using it for planting, mowing, baling and one year it did all the tillage work as I'd had surgery on my left knee...
