    New Holland 717 shear bar

We just purchased a New Holland 717 chopper with one row corn head. Just going threw the machine. The manual doesn't cover the adjustment of the shear bar very well. It tells the distance between the knifes and the shear bar. But you can't really see it threw the opening. How do you get it set...

    bent trailer axle

I work at dexter axle in Albion. I have seen some stuff like you are talking about done.I do some service work and go out and repair them. Just buy a axle beam ( just an axle no hubs) then put your hubs and bearings on it. Way to big of a liability to do what your saying. A axle beam is only a...

    MW nine speed cable

Purchased a 45 H with a cable shift M&W nine speed. The tractor has been sitting for sometime so the cable is froze up. How can I gain access to the cable in the transmission to change it? Will I need to pull the top of the transmission off or can I get to it threw the belt pulley cover?

All they did was clean them and adjusted them. Now it works fine. The shifting issue... We ALWAYS pull the torque...

    odd WC

Sorry about that. I was mistaking about the rear end. I thought they put and extra piece on to fill it. That is a knock out I believe to get the bearings. And the small plug is what I was talking about is the fill plug

    odd WC

It must likely is a Sherman two speed. It could either be a step up or a step down transmission. They made both. From the way it sounds its a later one. The first ones had a detent ball to on the lever but as they got used the springs got weak letting it pop out. The later ones had what I call a...

    linseed oil

Hi folks! I have a 1943 WC Allis that is extremely original. It has allot of original paint on it sheet metal is probably a 9 out of 10. It would (in my opinion) a shame to paint it. I have seen folks use linseed oil to preserve tractor's like that. My question is has anyone used it...

    WC wheels

That gets complicated. Steel wheels where orange that's for sure. Now on rubber I have allot of original sales literature that shows the most of them black. Even some early styled tractor's with pressed steel rims in black and white photos are black. My 37 WC is repainted with black...
