    Drop on a 770 head and manifolds, bigger valves and such. Our 770 with 3 3/4 overbore put out 58HP on the dyno. Ed.

    Pulling Cams Longevity

    Older engines use flat tappet cams and need oil with additives such as zinc to keep from ruining the cam. An older gas tractor we have was given regular auto oil and almost ruined it. Switched to diesel 15w40 and saved it. Ed.

    Only made a couple of 2 cyl blanks and cut the gear. 13 teeth and LH helix. Make a lot of blanks for newer engines, mostly from S7 tool steel. Make studs also if you need some. PM if interested. Ed.

    1650 Gas

    Our 1650 was using oil badly over the years even without being used that much.Switched from gas engine oil to 15W40 diesel oil reduced the consumption.

    head bolt lube

    I second the choice of ARP lube. I did some tests of different lubes and the ARP lube will gain you between 5 and 10 percent clamping force with the same torque wrench setting. Ed.

    My Dad bought a 1750 in Bloomington in 78, we still have it and use it on the round baler. Ed.

    Need a good headgasket for an 1855 D

    Brothers 1855D had a headgasket crack in the fire ring. It just started to leak so has not hurt anything. The gasket was put in about 10yrs ago from a Reliance kit. Any suggestions for a brand? Ed.

    1655/310 retrofit

    I always set one valve if the other is all the way open. Takes a little longer but takes out the variables. Ed.

    3 point quit on 1966 4000

    3 point was working OK then quit lifting next time I started it. Power steering works, this tractor has no remotes to check. Where can I check pressure? Possible linkage problem? Fluid has been changed and still full. This is my first Ford and am not familiar that much. Still waiting on a...
