3 point quit on 1966 4000

3 point was working OK then quit lifting next time I started it. Power steering works, this tractor has no remotes to check. Where can I check pressure? Possible linkage problem? Fluid has been changed and still full. This is my first Ford and am not familiar that much. Still waiting on a manual.

Most likely a stuck unload valve. Will require pulling the 3-point top cover to access and repair.

you dont say which 4000... if its a su or lcg model, you may need to prime the pump on the back of the engine.... If its an all purpose model, with the pump in the side of the rear end, its probably empty, or an unload valve sticking.

SU has the same pump in the rear axle as a all purpose model
LCG model uses a 3000 rear axle and has the engine mounted pump
I agree on checking oil level first
Brother has my manual on the hydraulic section for a 4000 but I think it would be difficult to check the pump pressure without a remote valve
