50 B Pulley is seizing to the crank when installing (tightening) the clutch driver.

Good evening "All" and thankyou so much for your efforts in helping solve the clutch jamming on assembly issue. The problem has been solved, and I have the 1950 JD B up and popping once again! I had not paid attention to the orientation of the internal parts of the pulley when I pressed them...

Yes, I have and I've been following the JD B Dealer Service Manual. I also have downloaded the parts manual. 1950 JD B Ser#265175 Crank, Flywheel and Mains were recently reinstalled following machining of flywheel splines. (flywheel was loose ) Pulley has new Oil Retainer, Washer, Bearing...

    B brake latch issue

I bent the end of a long screw driver into a hook or L. I still need to bend over some, but it works great for me, especially with bulky winter clothing. I fashioned a holder out of a short piece of abs slipped over the power trol leaver.

Wico XH 1042 Magneto Magnet Rotor Rub

I've been working on the family 1950 JD B with Wico XH 1042 Magneto for 5 years. It had sat out in the elements, neglected for the previous 16 years. In the past year I had the block bored and installed .045 over aluminum pistons. I've bored out and cleaned (with proper aviation bits) all of...

'50 JD B Tranny Oil Recommendations

Thanks for the responses guys. My nearest JD dealer is over 1 hr away. Local Canadian Tire has "Certified" 80w90 for about $80. This was a hard worked family tractor that I'm just interested in getting running and painted up a bit. Not a show machine. Good to hear from you BuickandDeere. We met...

'50 JD B Tranny Oil Recommendations

What reasonably priced transmission oil would you suggest I use in late model JD B. B had 80w90 previously and I am having difficulty sourcing it. B will see light use only, no pulling or tillage. I'm located in Ontario just north of NY State with temps ranging from -20's F to +80's F. I...

50 B Head Studs and Block install

I'm about to reinstall the head studs into engine block following .045 over bore.Should I install the head studs before or after bolting the block to the crankcase? Easier to see what I'm doing with block on the bench. However, easier to install the block without studs sticking out,although...
