JD 328 baler needle lift arm

We had the same problem with our 336 baler. The needle brake was worn and allowed the needle arm to start to move away from its end stops slightly, which engaged the safety stop and sheared the flywheel shear bolt.

    Knotter Woes Continue

From the picture it looks like you have a knot formed, and the number two twine broke right after the knot. That would indicate that the wiper arm is removing the twine and something is breaking the twine after the knot if formed, if I am seeing the picture correctly.

    new holland 2000 baler ??

This message is a reply to an archived post by herk on March 08, 2017 at 08:57:49. The original subject was "new holland 2000 baler ??". I know this is late but I just came across your post, we own a NH 2000 baler. We run it with a Case IH 7210 which is 130 HP and does well with it. They are...

    986 International steering cylinder rebuild

I found a local hydraulic shop and they put it on for me. He used a special grease on the seal and beveled the end of the rod slightly and it went right on. Thanks for the ideas.

    986 International steering cylinder rebuild

...at least from what I could see, it can't come off, but can be wrong about that.

Thanks for the idea, but the piston can't be removed from the rod.

    986 International steering cylinder rebuild

I am rebuilding our steering cylinder on our 986 international and am having difficulty getting the left end cap (the side with the threaded end on the rod) back on the cylinder rod. I was able to get the opposite end to slip over the rod since the rod is slightly tapered. As it sits now, the...

    Farmall H with a M carburetor

I never thought about an aftermarket manifold. I am going to leave it be, doesn't bother me with it on. It was puzzling me how this carb bolts up flush and the H carb wasn't flush. Thx for the help.

Here is another picture of it if it helps.

    Farmall H with a M carburetor

The previous owner told me he replaced the manifold and carb. He said that the carb was from a M, so that is what I am going from when I say that it is a M carb, I don't know the difference. It is though the original engine since it has the same serial number stamped on it as the bell housing...

    Farmall H with a M carburetor

Last year I bought a '41 H and the previous owner for some reason or other put a M carburetor on it. It runs well with it and can't see any problems using it, but for the sake of having the correct carburetor, I want to put a H carb back on it. The problem I found with putting the H carb on...

Treasures in the ground. What have you found from plowing?

How true, one never finds what they have lost in the field, but will find everything else. We lost the third point of a three point hitch for our 574 and still can't find it. (though I doubt it is buried in one of the fields.)

    quick easy H question

The transmission holds 6 gallons of gear oil. There is a small plug on the left side of the transmission that will indicate when you have enough oil in it. You may also want to consider before filling it with oil, to flush it with Kerosene or diesel. I know when I drained mine, the oil...

986 loses power steering, brakes and clutch

Our 986 periodically loses power steering, brakes and the clutch and to make it work we have to bleed out the system on the left side of the transmission by removing a bolt and running the tractor until air stops coming out and hytran shoots out. It only does this right after we start the...
