    Moline GVI Diesel

    More or less normal. Above 60 degrees or so it should start on its own. Injection timing is critical to make that happen. If its worn and has low compression, it is also harder to start.

    Already bought my son a tractor, and he's only 7. Worst part is his sister is making like she wants one too. Thats gonna take another tractor, and a bigger truck and trailer. There's no way I'm just going to be pit crew and let them run mine! At least I have some time to worry about it.

    MM GVI Diesel Tach conversion

    Hmmm, The GVI I had came with a defunct tach and gererator drive, it was a diesel. Kinda hard to run anything on the pto without one. Anyway, I drilled and tapped a hole in the bell housing and used an electronic tach out of a truck.

    Probably was put together from mix and match parts. Alot of the rears were the same. I have a 44 with a diesel engine and is stamped 44GR with the appropriate serial # for a gas.

    It's dark now, but if I remember right there are two bosses on the bottom edge of the head that have threaded holes in them. There is a flat plate that bolts to them and the canister clamps bolt to that.

    Why would a gas have so much more power? I run a 504 diesel and pull pretty even with a 605HD on LP. I know the 605 has had quite a bit of work done. My 504 is more stock than most pullers.

    1105 opinions.

    It should have a 2 speed pto. Four bolts and a different stub shaft is all it takes to change speeds. Not even any oil mess.
