harris 44

[GENERAL PURPOSE]

how do you tell the difference in models?? i bought a 44rc at least the decals say 44, but the serial number has a 30 obove the number

Probably was put together from mix and match parts. Alot of the rears were the same. I have a 44 with a diesel engine and is stamped 44GR with the appropriate serial # for a gas.

How many cylinders does the engine have and is an overhead valve or flathead?

4 cylinder, looks like a flathead

Would not be a 44 with a flat head 4, OHV 4 or flat head 6

Next question. How many forward gears does it have?

5 foward gears

The only Massey Harris that had a flathead 4 and 5 forward gears was the 30.

i am wrong,, it has 5 foward and is not a flathead,

In that case it is either a 33 or 44.

THANK'S,, for the help, i read that the wheelbase is longer on the 44, my wheelbase is rite around 88" i think the other is like79"
