    JD G/70 Big Block

I am running a 9 1/2" crank and a 6 5/8" bore. The 7 1/2" would give me 840 cubes. It would take more work to put it in than I want. It would be down for most of the next several months. I can be back together with my old block in a few weeks and ready for the "winter" pulls.

    JD G/70 Big Block

It should be the same as any G or early 70. A G block will bolt up to a 70 All Fuel. I am not aware that the Gas would have a different bolt pattern.

    JD G/70 Big Block

It is aftermarket. The pistons would not be a concern due to high compression. Personnally, I prefer not to go over 9:1. Between 8:1 & 9:1 a two cylinder will lug better on a hard pull. I ran 9 1/2:1 before and had to burn 114 octane and it did not seem to lug well. (That was with 6 5/8"...

Two-cylinder tractor pullers: Anyone interested in a 7 1/2" bore block for a John Deere G or 70 - contact me. I have a block with pistons, rings, wrist pins and a template. Located in central Indiana.

    G crank questions

Your answer is yes. What kind of stroke are you going to have on the crank? My experience with used cranks are worn splines. My advice would be to make sure the splines are good on the crank you are going to use.

    John Deere G 7 1/2 block

I would like to know if you have had any experience with installing a 7 1/2" bore block in a John Deere G. The block I am referring to is custom made by "Rick Thornburg" from the Georgia area. (I may not have his name spelled correct.) Any information or leads would be appreciated.
