    424 crankshaft pulley nut

Just wondering . My tractor is about a 1965 model . The nut holding pulley on has an irregular shape almost as is if a crank would go over it and turn it . I know of no reference to these tractors ever being anything other than electric start . Does anyone have any knowledge ?

    F20 Farmall wont stay running

Check your manifold I had one doing the same thing over 30 years ago. Found a hole rusted through the manifold between intake and exhaust. Look down inside your exhaust pipe my rust hole was the size of a dime. This would let fuel be sucked into to exhaust as it was running back firing and blue...

    Farmall F-20 - Unknown part

Andy, Those style foot rest was on the old Regular's they were bolted to the right and left side of the trans. one each side down through the frame rails. I put a set on my 20 just because they are neat. The old Regulars did not have foot rest cast in the rear bolster like the 20's do. Have you...

    Farmall F-20 Overdrive

Andy, That is a road gear only not a overdrive, to work it put your trans. in neutral than shift that road gear in it's a 5th gear. I have three 20's one is a road gear like your and the other two have overdrives in them. Overdrives step up all the gears that gives you 8 speeds forward and 2...

    F-12 Farmall 1937, 1938

Hi Andy, I thought that the steering wheel and steering rod on a f-14 angled up like the tractor on the left of your picture is it a f-12 or f-14? If it is a f-12 I have never seen one that came from the factory with the steering setup like that? The steering rod angling up is how I tell 12...

    Ready to cultivate field peas

Scott, I may have a pair of side sheilds, But I won't be able to look for them till winter. The weeds back where they would be are 5ft over my head full of ticks and chiggers. The sheilds may have rusted to paper thin by now? We only used them when the beans was shorter than 6" then we would...

    Ready to cultivate field peas

Scott. I have a two row F-20 cultivator that I have not had on since 1974. Mine has a setup that hooks into that tongue on the front bolster of the tractor so you can steer the front gangs when there down then it releases so you can make your turns at the ends it worked well. My dad took two...

Joe, The casting # on the starter is HF161, From the end of the nose to the mounting flanges where it sets against the bell housing is 3 1/8". I owned a 1928 chevy 25yrs ago I think the starter off it was the same as a F-20. Also check out the starter for a 70 Hart Parr I have a 1936 it looks...

JOE, I have two F-20's with starters there is not a spacer on them. I have an extra starter motor I took off one in a junk yard it did not have a spacer on it either. You may have the wrong starter motor for it? If you need me to I will measure the nose of my spare starter motor, Some noses are...

    an experiment that worked!

BOBWA, I have a F-20 that has a elect. starter on it and the mag was modified like what you done. But a 6 volt coil was used, Who ever done it did a real nice job with a grommet where the wire came through for the points and a small machine bolt was double nutted for the coil wire to attach on...

    F-20 SICKLE BAR MOWER

I have a sickle bar mower that came with a F-20 that I bought 40 years ago, I've never tried putting it on. This IHC mower was made just for F-20's I was told. The whole thing mounts a cross the draw bar some how? There's no rear wheel and it doesn't pivot at the draw bar like simi-mounted IH...

    Farmall F-20 Worth

BOB, I bought a 1937 F-20 in central Il. that runs good, with elec. starter, foot brakes, heisler overdrive, good tires, But it needed painted for $200.00 back in 1988. That's the most I ever given for an F-20. Back in the 1970's I bought 3 for $50.00 each, 1 for $25.00, and one I give a 12 pack...

putting green on red....45 loader on H

sgt. bull, I have a 1947 B John with a #45 loader and cobb bucket that had been my late father inlaw's. I have thought about putting it on my H so we could restore the B. But I can't stop using it long enough to do that. The #45 I think has been on an H at sometime there's a bracket that someone...

    1944 Farmall H Running Problem

Andy, I posted about the manifold being bad on the last post. I having been trying to think of a way that you might check it on the tractor. Try pulling the rocker assy. off so all the valves are all closed. Next take a shop vac. set it up to blow not suck. Duck tape the hose into the exhaust...

    1944 H Starting Running Problems

Andy, I bought an f-20 about 30 years ago that did just about what your H is doing. It turned out to be the manifold had a rusted through between the intake and the exhaust inside the manifold below the exhaust pipe outlet. This was hard to find, it drove me nuts for a while. I did all the...
