    On a W4, the 24" rims should be a slpit rim design, clamped to the cast wheel. They used a drop center 26" rim and calmped it to the same cast wheel. They used a different type of shank amd different bars that ran crossways under the tractor to get the row spacing. They were called a beet and bean cultivator, and worked best on bedded crops...

    Ken, The bearings (both upper and lower) consist of a cup, some loose 1/4" balls and then they mate up to the sufaces on the worm gear. The cups and balls should be available from any CaseIH dealer. Don.
